Hello to you! It's been awhile, but that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking of you...
Admittedly, we did a serious bit of loafing over the holiday weekend. But over Aaron's 5 days off, we managed to get out of the house long enough to see the fireworks in DC. I took a little video with my camera and I'm hoping to upload it here soon. But for now, maybe you'll enjoy some photos:
It was a beautiful display with the Washington Monument silhouetted against showering sparks.
But more impressive than the fireworks themselves was the crowd! When the show ended, there was a mass exodus the likes of which I've never seen. It seems that every event in the nation's capital draws huge numbers. I'm specifically remembering the Cherry Blossom Festival in April.
We also finally saw the new(ish) Star Trek movie and it did live up to all the hype.
The rest of the long weekend was spent watching the first season of Prison Break. If you haven't seen it, the first season is definitely worth your time. Kind of preposterous, but seriously engrossing. And of course there's Wentworth Miller (swoon).
Or tattooed and in prison for armed robbery:
I'd take him either way!
**Wiping the drool away**
And now for Sweet and Light news: You may have noticed the shop looking a little bare these last few months, but that's all about to change. Over the next few days I'm doing a major shop update with bags and aprons! Yay!
Here's a peak at the things I've been working on (these items are now listed in the Sweet and Light shop!):
All handmade in linen (of course!)
Petite and practical hip bags:
Some slim totes:
And a pretty round bottom shoulder bag:
I'll be back soon with some new pillowcase aprons.
Bye for now!
